Postgraduate Research and Coursework Scholarships
A number of scholarships are available for postgraduate students studying a coursework or research based degree in 2010. Each scholarship has a different value and set of eligibilty criteria. Find out below which scholarships you can apply for.
Postgraduate Research Scholarships
The Doreen McCarthy, Barbara Crase, Cathy Candler and Brenda Nettle Scholarships
Value: Up to $A5,000 each
Number awarded: At least one
Eligibility:
- Men and women of any nationality,
- Must be enrolled in a Masters or Doctorate by research at a South Australian university,
- Must have completed one year of postgraduate research,
- Must not be employed full-time, or on fully-paid study leave,
- Must not have received an AFUW-SA Scholarship in this category in 2009.
Padnendadlu Postgraduate Scholarship
Value: Up to $A5,000 each
Number awarded: At least one
Eligibility:
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women,
- Must be enrolled in a Masters or Doctorate by research at a South Australian university,
- Must have completed one year of postgraduate research,
- Must not be employed full-time, or on fully-paid study leave,
- Must not have received an AFUW-SA Scholarship in this category in 2009.
Coursework Scholarships
The Diamond Jubilee Scholarship
Value: Up to $A4,000 each
Number awarded: At least one
Eligibility:
- Men and women of any nationality,
- Must be enrolled in a Masters or Doctorate by coursework at a South Australian university,
- Must not be employed full-time, or on fully-paid study leave,
- Must not have received an AFUW-SA Scholarship in this category in 2009.

Dentistry Scholarships
Winifred E. Preedy Postgraduate Scholarship
Value: Up to $A4,000
Number awarded: One
Eligibility:
- Women of any nationality,
- Must be a past or present student of the University of Adelaide Dental School,
- Must be studying a postgraduate degree in dentistry or an allied field at an Australian university,
- Must have completed one year of their postgraduate degree,
- Must not be employed full-time, or on fully-paid study leave,
- Must not have previously won the Winifred E Preedy Postgraduate Bursary.
